Partnering workshop for professional dancers and dance teachers
One of the greatest pleasures of dancing lies in partnering, but if you would like to follow actual partnering classes or workshops you are up for a challenge. Dance academies around the globe rarely include partnering technique as a permanent subject. Therefore, we want to offer a series of workshops based on a developed exercising program suitable for dance students, semi-professional and professional dancers of all styles. About P is for partnering: We’ve analysed the physicality of dancing with a partner in several different dance genres including ballet, contemporary dance, ballroom dancing and even acrobatics and realised that the Partnering Elements are the same in all of them. Partnering Elements are different ways to receive weigh. Weight can be Balanced, Shifted, come Off the ground, create Velocity or be Led through space. We’ve created exercises to develop techniques, which are necessary to perform the partnering elements. We call these techniques Partnering Fundaments. Partnering Fundaments are Preparation, Centre of gravity, Do it yourself, Core support, Activated, Back to balance, Breaking, Hold, Space and Lead. P is for Partnering technique will improve your understanding of how to handle weight. It will give you knowledge you can apply while dancing with a partner - regardless of weight, size, gender or choreography. |
